Ms Rachael Neville
Neuropsychologist
Caringbah, Narellan
Rachael is an experienced neuropsychologist who specialises in the assessment and treatment of cognitive, behavioural, and psychological issues. This helps assist with diagnosis, monitor changes over time (before and after surgery or following a new treatment regime), identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses and improve memory, attention, mental speed, and reasoning with cognitive therapies.
“I was initially drawn to neuropsychology because I found it to be an ideal blend between science and the helping profession. It had long been my intention to select a career that is directly involved with helping people, but at the same time, I was acutely aware of my interest and fascination with neuroscience and advanced clinical research.”
In a cognitive rehabilitation program, you will be guided through a set of cognitive activities that aim to help improve memory, attention, speed of thinking, reasoning, and various aspects of language. For example, if an individual had suffered a stroke and noticed that their memory was worse than it used to be, then the neuropsychologist will guide the patient through a memory-based program.
